Our mission at Swallows Nest

- To provide an overnight shelter for children removed or found by the SAPS.
How Swallows Nest began
Jeanette and Lloyd Birrell’s journey as a place of safety family began 17 years ago with a different organisation (Abba House). Before starting TPoSA, they cared for eight babies. After the launch of TPoSA, they continued to open their home to a further 158 babies and, to date, they have made a difference in the lives of 166 babies whom they have welcomed into their home.
In 2012 they started Swallows Nest Nursery where they take care of high risk and premature babies.
In Jeanette’s own words, “I cannot imagine my life without taking care of these precious babies!”
